Invasion of North Korean troops across the 38th parallel

At the demand of the United States, the Security Counsel of the United Nations decides to make an appeal to all the countries of the world to lend a contribution to the fight against the invasion  by North Korea.

General Douglas Mac Arthur became the commander of the troops fighting under the banner of the United Nations, actually THE FIRST BLUE HELMETS.

The first ground forces of the UN who went into action together with the ROKA (South Korean Army), were members of the 21st Infantry Regiment of the 12th US Infantry Division.

On 29th August, the 27th Brigade arrived from England. The Belgian battalion was part of this Brigade during their first action in Korea.

Afterwards troops from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Greece, Luxemburg( incorporated in the Belgian battalion) Netherlands, New Zealand, The Filipinos, Thailand, and Turkey arrived. South Africa sent Air Force Units and Denmark, India, Norway and Sweden sent medical aid teams. Italy sent a hospital, although it was not yet a member of the UN.
