Distinguished Military medal of Haïti  Salessie the First

Ethiopia furnished three 1.200 man battalions to the UN Command, one battalion at the time. The first of these battalions - know as KAGNEW ( conquerors ) battalions arrived in May 1951 and was assigned to the US 7th Infantry Division. The Ethiopians were renowned for their fighting spirit, determination and loyalty to those around them.
